About Hot Dam Blues
Hot Dam Blues was started in 2023 with the goal to revitalize the blues dance scene in Rotterdam, with a focus on parties with live blues music.
What is Blues Dancing?
Blues dance is a dance style that evolved right alongside blues music in the Deep South during the late 1800s and early 1900s. It comes from African American communities and, just like the music, it’s not just one kind of dance—it’s a whole family of styles. And the cool part? It’s still evolving today.

It is our belief that blues is best danced to live music, for that reason we organise monthly blues parties at Jazzcafé Dizzy, with the best bands that we can find.
